Oregon's Department of Human Services launches Impact Oregon, a job board to staff developmental disabilities services
The Oregon Department of Human Services, Office of Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS), launched Impact Oregon on Cloverleaf Sites: a dedicated job board that connects people looking for meaningful work with the provider organizations that support Oregonians with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The challenge
Under a state mandate, ODDS was tasked with building a job board that would connect job seekers with work in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field. That field covers positions providing direct care and services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with the administrative and management roles that keep provider organizations running.
The job board had to serve both sides of that connection. Providers needed to post openings directly without routing each one through agency staff. Job seekers needed to find those openings for free, with no barrier between an interested person and a provider who needed them.
The approach
Impact Oregon runs on Cloverleaf Sites, organized around the two groups it serves.
Providers sign in and post and manage their own listings, so openings go live when the provider is ready rather than when an agency queue clears. Job seekers search and filter those listings at no cost, and search results surface the roles most relevant to them.
The site was built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, so it works for job seekers with disabilities. Hosting, security, and updates are managed as part of the subscription, so ODDS runs a statewide workforce resource without maintaining the technology behind it.
The results
Impact Oregon has kept 99.9% uptime since launch, a dependable place for providers to recruit and for job seekers to search.
500 provider organizations post and manage their own openings on Impact Oregon, each with its own account.
More than 400 jobs in developmental disabilities services across Oregon are posted on Impact Oregon each year.
